By now probably everybody in the UK is well aware about the special bank holiday to celebrate the Queen´s Diamond Jubilee: With the Whitsun bank holiday being moved to June 4th and the additional Jubilee bank holiday on June 5th, Brits can enjoy a long weekend.

From now on taxis in Marbella will be charging per kilometre, between 0.91 and 1.06 euros depending if its daytime, night-time, bank holiday or weekend.

This Friday the 24th of February is the start of the new 2012 season in Selwo Adventure, in Estepona, and Selwo Marina Dolphinarium, in Benalmadena, the leisure centre parks on the Costa del Sol. This year is very special for the Selwo Marina Dolphinarium as it celebrates its tenth anniversary and due to this, it’s preparing several proposals to celebrate such a special birthday during the the whole season. On the hand, Selwo Adventure will also be offering a few outstanding innovations that will bring the visitor closer to real African territories.
A group of tour-operators, related to the sector of cruises, visited the municipality last weekend with the aim to discover the municipality and its attractions as a tourist destination of the ships that dock at Malaga port, according to the councillor of Tourism in Nerja town hall, Bernardo Pozuelo, who received these professionals of the tourist sector.

Malaga will be receiving almost 8.000 cruisers today. It’s the first avalanche of high sea tourists since the accident of the ‘Costa Concordia’. Two ships will dock in the Malaga port between seven and eight o’clock in the morning. Coincidentally, one of the them, the ‘Costa Serena’ that belongs to the company Costa Cruceros, is identical to the ship that wrecked in italy.
The Alcazaba is Malaga’s most valued monument, together with the Gibralfaro Castle and the Malagueta Bullring, according to a survey made by Qype, community of online reviews in Europe, that reflects that these sites are the favourites of both the citizens and the visitors.
The opinions of both, tourists and citizens, have considered the Alcazaba one of the “must see” monuments, due to its cultural and archaeological interest, and award it with the highest marks.
Malaga presents a new network of directional signs that gather all the city’s museums. The councillor of Economy and Tourism, Carolina España, introduced this cultural project of specific signposting this morning, christened as ‘Malaga, City of Museums’. “The aim of this new system is to reinforce a global and more homogeneous idea of this important tourist offer”, she added during the presentation, which took place in the museum Carmen Thyssen. This initiative is added to the pedestrian signposting network that already currently exists in Malaga city, and that will soon be improved once the contest for the renewal of hotel signs has been resolved. Both projects add up a total investment of almost 90.000 euros.
