Fuengirola Fair in October

Are you in or around Fuengirola at the beginning of October? Then don’t miss the Fuengirola Fair 2024 which will be held from the 6th to 12th of October.

The Fuengirola Fair is held in honour of its patron saint, the Virgen del Rosario and is, together with the Malaga Fair (in August) the Torremolinos Fair (in September) and the Estepona Fair (in July), the most multitudinous, folkloric, lively and colourful in the province.

What’s in store for me at the Fuengirola Fair?

Get ready for a few days full of festive atmosphere throughout the city. As in the other major fairs, many locals take a holiday during these days to fully enjoy their patron saint’s festivities.

Typical andalusian Foklore

You will see many women dressed in typical gypsy costumes with flowers in their hair.

But the most outstanding feature of the Fuengirola Fair is the prominence of the horses.

Both in the streets of the town centre and in the fairgrounds, there are magnificent horses beautifully decked, riders with their typical costumes and many decorated carriages.

And, as with the other fairs, the Fuengirola fair is divided into Day Fair in the centre and the Night Fair which takes place in the centre of the fairgrounds.

Day Fair

If you’re more of a day person than a night person, just take a stroll through the centre and go with the flow. Many bars have a bar service on the street, with music and lots of atmosphere.

Night Fair

From the afternoon onwards the party moves more to the fairgrounds of Fuengirola.

It is conveniently located in the centre of town and about 10 minutes walking distance from the suburban train station.

On the fairground there are the typical fairground attractions, food and drink and the so-called ‘Casetas’, large halls, where there are usually live performances every day.

Opening Hours

On the peak party nights (October 6, 9, 10, and 11), the music inside the casetas runs until 5:30 am with doors closing at 6 am. On the quieter mid-week nights and closing day (October 7, 8, and 12), music stops at 3:30 am with a 4 am closing time.

Public Holidays during the Fuengirola Fair

During the festivities there will be two public holidays.

The 7th of October is a local holiday in Fuengirola in honour of its patron saint. The 12th is a bank holiday.

While most small businesses will be closed, the Miramar Shopping centre in Fuengirola will be open.

A week before the Fair itself, you can take part in the traditional pilgrimage in honour of the virgin.

27 September – Rosario Pilgrimage

10 am: Romeros Mass in the Rosario Church at the Plaza de la Constitución.

11 am: Departure of the procession from the Plaza de la Constitución. There will be typical carts, horse riders, pilgrims and decorated vehicles.

Route: Calle Miguel de Cervantes, Avenida Condes de San Isidro, Calle Hermanos Pinzón, Avenida de Mijas, Camino de Campanales to El Esparragal.

The procession is expected to arrive at around 1:15 pm in El Esparragal, where the festivities will take place with music, dancing and food. There will be a drinks and food bar, as well as a stage with performances from 6 pm onwards.

6 to 12 October – Fuengirola Fair Programme

The heart of the evening entertainment takes place at the Palacio de la Paz at the fairgrounds. The 2026 edition features a highly anticipated musical lineup:

• Major Concerts: High-profile performances include pop stars Marta Sánchez, David Bustamante, and Antonio José.
• Youth & DJ Sets: Los 40 Sessions will feature popular electronic sets from DJ Nano and San Bernardino.
• Family Day: Children’s entertainment will be headlined by the popular musical group Cantajuegos.

6 October

• After the opening speech at 21:30 the fair is officially inaugurated with the lighting of the artistic lighting.

7 October

Holiday in honour of the Virgen del Rosario. It is a local holiday in Fuengirola and most of the shops in the centre are closed.

• 10 am: Flamenco Mass in the Plaza de la Constitución, followed by the procession of the Virgin through the streets of the city.

Itinerary: Plaza de la Constitución, Avenida Condes de San Isidro, Calle Marconi, Calle Palangeros, Calle Larga, Calle España and return to the church at Plaza de la Constitución.

• El Jabegote Flamenco Festival at Palacio de la Paz at the fairgrounds.

8 October

• Children’s Day with a 50% discount on fair rides. Children’s party at Palacio de la Paz.

9 October

• Concert David Bustamante (Popular Spanish pop and romantic ballad singer) at Palacio de la Paz at the fairgrounds.

10 October

• Concert Antonio José (Award-winning Spanish pop star) at Palacio de la Paz at the fairgrounds.

11 October

• Los 40 Sessions. Major electronic music and DJ party. Free admission at Palacio de la Paz at the fairgrounds.

12 October

• 11 am. Mass in honour of the Virgen del Pilar (Patron Saint of Spain). It is a bank holiday in Spain and shops are closed (except Miramar shopping centre).

• 12 am. Celebration of the National Holiday at Plaza de la Constitución.

• Concert Marta Sánchez (Closing performance by the iconic Spanish pop diva).

Where to get Tickets

All concerts take place at 10 pm at Palacio de la Paz at the fairgrounds. While entry to the general fairgrounds is completely free, tickets for the main concerts at the Palacio de la Paz must be purchased in advance.

How to get to the Rosario Fair in Fuengirola

As we mentioned earlier, the Rosario Fair is one of the most popular in the province. As such, it attracts thousands of visitors, both during the day and at night.

By car

The Fuengirola fairground is located just a few minutes from the A-7 Mediterranean Highway, with exits from both Marbella and Malaga.

Public Parking

Parking during these days in the city centre or near the fairgrounds can be extremely difficult and unnecessarily stressful.

Commuter Train

The Line C1 runs every 20 minutes between the towns of Fuengirola, Benalmádena, Torremolinos, Malaga Airport and Malaga city centre.

The Fuengirola local train station is located in the city centre and about a 12 minutes’ walk from the fairgrounds.

Weather during the Fuengirola Fair & Practical Tips

October afternoons in Fuengirola are generally sunny and warm, with daily highs typically reaching around 22°C to 25°C.

Yet take into account that temperatures cool down quickly after sunset, dropping to a brisk 15°C–17°C, meaning that during the night fair it might feel a bit chilly.

• Pack a light jacket, wrap, or pashmina for the evening hours so you stay comfortable as the temperature drops.

• Regarding footwear: Most locals take great care with their traditional outfits for a night out. However, this does not apply to footwear; high heels and white shoes are strongly discouraged. The fairground terrain features a mix of paving and dry, dusty earth that will quickly soil delicate or white footwear.

• It is also common sense to use, for example, a zippered crossbody bag for keeping your phone and valuables close and safe, as large crowds also always attract pickpockets.
