Go shopping with your roller skates in Malaga!
Carrefour will allow its customers to skate through its Malaga hypermarkets this summer. With this, the company pays homage to one of its most iconic images: when its employees skated through its department stores.
The Story behind
The supermarket chain arrived in Spain in the 70s and one of the most memorable images of that time is that of employees moving on skates through the corridors. This is a well-remembered image among generations.

When most people remember what it was like to go shopping at the supermarket when they were children, the same image comes to mind: that of the employees of a renowned hypermarket, on their roller skates from one end of the store to the other with unique agility and grace.
This experience made many children dream of a future where they themselves would be cruising the aisles of this store on wheels, a dream that can now become a reality in Malaga.
Roller Hour in Carrefour
Now, consumers themselves will be able to shop on skates.
Christened the ‘Roller-Hour’, this initiative will run until August 31st, between 4:30 and 5:30 pm, in all Carrefour hypermarkets in Spain.

Surely more than one of those kids from back then will put on their skates to do their shopping, or perhaps just stroll through the supermarket aisles. Afternoons at Carrefour during August certainly promise fun!
