Estepona Crafts
In Estepona this activity has not had a great impact, but more than anything else its fishing and agricultural traditions did enable certain handicrafts to flourish, of which began in the early 50's and the change of attitudes in response to the tourist phenomenon, together with the rise in the cost of the materials and the lack of available labour, lead to the loss of certain traditional products of handicraft created for specific purposes.
This change however should be seen optimistically, since it has contributed to the preservation of our traditions whilst dignifying the craftsman's creative spirit and producing a trade which is very much appreciated by tourism.
