Malaga’s coastline, known worldwide as the “Costa del Sol“, offers a total of 160 km of beaches. Outstanding for their natural beauty are the coves of the natural park of the cliffs of Maro and Cerro Gordo in Nerja, and the extensive beaches of fine golden sand of Dunas de Artola and Cabopino in Marbella.

Also the interior of Malaga, being surrounded by hills and mountains, offers many other attractions. In the north of the capital is located the Natural Park Montes de Malaga, with plenty of Mediterranean forest, with hiking trails and excellent views.

In the north of the province, the Natural Park El Torcal in Antequera holds in store a fantastic scenery of karst rock in unique shapes. Another 50 km towards Seville we can contemplate the nature reserve of Laguna de Fuente Piedra with the largest colony of flamingos in the peninsula.

South of the region of Antequera lies the Sierra de Abdalajís, with rugged mountains and gentle hills, which due to its climatic conditions is an ideal place to practice paragliding. Nearby in the municipality of Alora are situated the natural space El Chorro, the Guadalhorce reservoir and the Gaitanes Gorge, a place of spectacular beauty very popular among hikers and climbers.

West of Malaga is located the Serrania de Ronda, an ideal place for hiking, climbing, caving and enjoyment of nature. East of the province is located the cave Cueva del Tesoro in Rincon de la Victoria, of submarine origin, and further east, again in Nerja, lies the Nerja Caves, with fantastic galleries where take place concerts during the summer months. In this municipality we can also enjoy the Route of the Rio Chillar, whose trail runs largely along the river bed.

And last not least, the Guadalhorce valley north of Malaga airport, the Orchard of Malaga, with thousands of orange and lemon trees, lovely villages and routes to discover. As you can see, the province of Malaga deserves to be discovered with time and attention and to enjoy everything good and beautiful it has to offer.
