Andalusia is a beautiful autonomous region in the south of Spain and hides within its borderlines real treasures that are well worth a visit during our vacations. In the provinces of Cadiz and Malaga, hidden between the mountains, are the picturesque White Villages. Its name is due to the custom of its neighbours to whitewash the houses and its location, to the need of protecting themselves against the enemies of yesteryear. A total of 5.500 skiers enjoyed their first weekend of the season in Granada’s Ski and Mountain resort, Sierra Nevada, of which its winter season 2011-2012 began this past Saturday with up to 40 kms of snow to ski on. Sources of Cetursa have informed Europa Press that this Sunday “another slope has been added”, so there was really 41 kms of snow, “in other words, an area four times larger than the usual opening average, which is 10.2 kms”.
