Pablo Picasso Museum

Next to the Picasso Birthplace Foundation is the Picasso Museum, the idea came from Picasso who wanted to give several of his own works. It would not be until the dead of Picasso when his widow returned to the idea that eventually would take shape in 2003 with the opening of Picasso Museum at Condes de Buenavista Palace.

The Buenavista Palace was built in the early sixteenth century, just after the conquest of the city by the Catholic Kings. It is a large building surrounding a courtyard, the building is extended after the inauguration of the Picasso Museum.

Phoenicians remains were found and now are part of the museum, visitors can walk a footbridge structure that let them see the remains of an ancient Phoenician wall.
