Situated in the house where Pablo Picasso was born. There are two exhibition areas the first of which is designated to drawings and pottery by Picasso plus articles and a video about his life. The other area houses works by different artists. There is not really a lot to see and most visitors are academics. The new Picasso Museum, also in Malaga, has a much larger selection of the artist's work.

Housed in the beautiful Palacio de los Condes de Buenavista, the museum was originally based on a large collection of work donated by Christine Ruiz-Picasso who was the artist's daughter-in-law. Only opened in 2000, other works are being added.
