An upmarket and exclusive café located only 100m from the cathedral that attracts a sophisticated clientele looking for something out of the ordinary. The interior is decorated in 19th-century style with small private alcoves where you can meet up and talk with friends. The classical music in the background adds to the atmosphere and you can often enjoy live chamber music concerts. It really comes alive at festive occasions such as Christmas, August Fair, Lent and Semana Santa when it becomes a forum for debates and exhibitions. Unsurprisingly, it was once selected as "Café of the Year" by the local media.

This pleasant little place in La Malagueta district is decorated in warm Mediterranean colors. The live shows are the big attraction, especially flamenco. The owner and staff try hard to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. All sorts of people come here, the majority are 35-plus. It's open every night of the year and weekends are busiest. In addition to the live shows they also play the latest commerical Latin hits. The drinks are reasonably priced.

This bar cum live music venue is located right by the Teatro Cervantes and the Plaza de la Merced. They have a sporadic program of live music - mainly jazz and flamenco - that attracts their regular clientele who like to relax with a cocktail during the set. It's decorated like a concert hall with a small stage for the musicians. They offer a great variety of drinks and the atmosphere is pleasant.

A small club by Calle Carreter?that's famous for it's programme of live concerts throughout the year. There are two regular bands that play on Mondays (Switch) and Thursdays (El T?del Saco) in addition to the guest bands and the great selection of music played by the DJ every night.
It's a simple and unpretentious venue with a loyal following of youngsters, mainly university students under 30.
